Monkey Business

Yes, I had to go with the pun title.  Deal with it. It will be worth your while, promise.

Tonight, I made a delicious little treat. Perhaps you have heard of it? Monkey Bread!

I went with the Rhee Drummond Recipe. Yes, Pioneer Woman herself. She makes way tasty treats, so I knew it would be a winner. And it was. It’s like a very large and in charge cinnabon.  But better.

Might I just caution you with one word of advice?  Starve yourself for about a week before making this, because you will want to eat the whole thing in one sitting.  Which I may or may not have done.

What? I’m in training for New Orleans.

We call that the money shot.

Here’s the recipe, peeps:

* Brown Sugar // 1/2cup will be needed
* 2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
* Bundt Cake Pan
* Cinnamon // 2-3 teaspoons
* 3 cans of Buttermilk Biscuits (the non-flaky ones)
* Sugar! // 1 cup

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Combine sugar and cinnamon.

Cut biscuits into quarters and cover with sugar and cinnamon mixture (you can use a ziploc and just toss those suckers around all willy nilly like)

Place biscuit pieces into Bundt pan.

Heat up butter and brown sugar until a runny paste is formed.  Cover biscuit pieces with delicious butter/brown sugar sauce.

Place in oven for 30-40 minutes.

Let sit  for about 15 minutes, turn it over, and then, DEVOUR!

  1. So excited to read this post. A coworker brings this in for every special event and it is beyond delicious. It will now be dangerous since I now know how to make it.

I love it when internet friends tell me what's what. Leave a comment!
